T-Shirt Slogan:
We’re trying to come up with a slogan to put on t-shirts. There are two possibilities for t-shirts – we could either make them for club members, or a campus-wide program showing respect of equality. We would like to do something along the lines of the Gay? Fine by me! Movement (check it out http://www.finebyme.org/), but using a more inclusive slogan. Some of the proposed ideas include:

Historian:
Beth has volunteered to be our new historian!! Thank you, Beth!

Space for Prism:
We are currently applying for a space on campus for Prism and other GLBTQ members of the campus community and their allies (à la the George Jackson Center for BSU). Our application is currently being considered, but we think that is very important to designate a safe, confidential space on campus for GLBTQ people and their allies. Noel presented a documentary, Fenced OUT, that shows the struggle of the GLBTQ community in Manhattan to keep their own space on the Christopher Street Piers. IMPORTANT! There is a Marriage Equality Rally being held Tuesday, February 14th in anticipation of the gay marriage court case being held in Trenton on Wednesday, February 15th. Both the rally and the court case are politically very important events, and if anyone is interested in attending either, please let us know!! The United Unitarian Association is bussing people to the rally, so if anyone is interested I can find out more about that. I included a letter from Garden State Equality highlighting the importance of these events:

General Meeting Minutes

Open Positions – the Prism Executive Team still has a few openings
• Historian:
o Creates a scrapbook detailing the events and activities of the club
o The E-Team will appoint a new Historian from the candidates. Aida Figueroa has volunteered for the position.
o Ken Reisch, our former Historian, is trying to finish last year’s scrapbook, but he doesn’t have many pictures. If anyone has any pictures from Prism, please e-mail them to Ken at reisch2@tcnj.edu by Friday, February 3, 2006.
• Webmaster/Webmistress:
o Update the Prism website
o The E-Team will appoint a new webmaster/mistress from the candidates. Angel Hernandez has volunteered for the position, but as the already busy VP, I’m sure he wouldn’t object to other applicants if anyone else is interested.
• NCOD/NDOS Chair:
o Marty Smith, our former NCOD/NDOS chair, accepted a nomination to the position, and was appointed to the position by the E-Board for the ensuing year.

Calendar:
• An updated calendar will be sent out weekly with upcoming events
• Check the calendar for interesting upcoming events
• Each member of the E-Team will be planning a general meeting this semester, so check the calendar to see the topic of each week’s meeting.
o Next meeting: Sexual Fluidity Discussion and viewing of the movie “Kissing Jessica Stein”
• Check for upcoming social activities! Dave has a lot planned, from clubbing to game and movie nights to amusement park trips.

Publicity:
• Several groups on campuses have upcoming events and speakers that might be fun to attend:
o PSA - 'President Bush, You Killed My Son!' An Evening with Sue Niederer
o Women and Gender Studies Department is sponsoring several speakers this semester; Prism may table for these speakers
o The Black Box will be having some interesting performances – check the calendar for more details as the events get closer
• Prism Logo
o We will be creating a new Prism logo to be used on a new banner, T-shirts, and other promotional materials
o Submit ideas for a new Logo!
• “Gay? Fine by me!” T-shirts
o The “Gay? Fine by me!” T-shirts are a nonprofit movement started at Duke University
o We could create a version with a more inclusive saying, such as “GLBT? Fine by me!”
o T-shirts could be sold as a fundraiser, or as an activist movement

Committees:
• Join a committee to get more involved with the organization! Being on a committee is a great way to be involved without as much time commitment as being an E-Team member.

Announcements:
• WILL will be having a Mardi Gras Masquerade (a drag prom of sorts) in April; could be made part of NDOS events
• TransAmerica is currently showing at the Ritz Theater Company in Philadelphia (Felicity Huffman recently won a Golden Globe for her performance)
• Transgeneration, a documentary series on transgendered college students, recently came out on DVD. The club will be taking up a collection to purchase the DVD at the next meeting, so bring a little money and we’ll have a viewing party!

· NAME CHANGE – With a majority vote of over 50%, the new name for our organization is PRISM (no acronym). We had a lengthy discussion on all of the potential names and finally chose PRISM.

o As far as the demonstration goes, we need people to help out! There are two 2-hour shifts from 11-1 and 1-3 next Wednesday, where we will be standing in the Student Center, gagged, holding signs with statistics and stories on them. This is a major event for our organization, and for this particular project, we need as many people as possible to sign up. This is an event that we, as activists for the GLBTQI community, should be jumping upon. We all know what it is like to be silent in some aspect of our lives, and there are many people who are still silenced. As advocates on our campus, it is our duty to speak up for those who can’t. Please sign up for this event. The manpower is needed to get our message across to the campus community.

· In our discussion meeting today, we discussed what it means to be silent. This was an emotional topic for many who spoke at the meeting, and thank you all for being open and letting everyone hear your stories.

§ The purpose in creating the Fashion Show was to provide members of our campus community with a look into creative and innovative processes that minority designers use in creating the finalized product we see in the store showcase. The Fashion Show also allows for students of color to display their talents on the run-way.

§ In co-sponsoring, we are looking to send GUTS members to help out with the sound and lighting gigs. Keep in mind that if you are helping out, you get to see the show for FREE!

o UL Night at the Apollo

§ There isn’t a date set for this yet, but we’re going to need members to help out. It’s the same kind of deal as the BSU fashion show.

o Saturday, April 2, 2005 @ 7 PM @ Kendall Main Stage – Asian American Association is hosting Mystique of the East, a cultural dance show. Entrance cost is $3.

o Sunday, April 3, 2005 @ 9:30-2 @ Student Center – We will be Tabling for Spring Day, so come by and keep your fellow GUTS members company while they attend the table.

o April 4-8, 2005 – Bloomfield College GSA is hosting “Out & Proud on Campus Week” with a kick-off event on April 4 from 10AM – 2 PM.

o Wednesday, April 6, 2005 @ 8:30 PM @ Green Hall - Women’s Center hosting Take Back the Night Rally, which are held internationally for unifying men & women against sexual violence.

o Thursday, April 7, 2005 @ 8 PM @ Cromwell Main Lounge – As a part of Sexual Assault Awareness Week, there will be an Open Mic Night/Coffeehouse. You can come watch or even perform. If you are interested in performing, please contact Sylvia Lugo at lugo4@tcnj.edu for more information.

o April 15, 2005 – April 17, 2005 in NYC CUNY Graduate Center – Young Democrat Socialists (yes, socialists, I went back and checked, and that’s what the e-mail said) are hosting 2005 Left Forum: The U.S., The World, & The Next Four Years. This event will be packed with political speeches for those of you who are inclined towards them.

o April 23, 2005 – Rutgers New Brunswick is hosting a College Queer Leadership Conference for FREE! There will be free food, workshops for GLBT activists, and a hosting program if you need to stay overnight.

o Jess Rowland is doing a 50 Mile Bike Ride for Multiple Sclerosis. This is a long way, and she desperately needs sponsors. She is looking to raise $150, and knows that we are all broke college students, but asks everyone who can to donate a dollar or two to the cause. o Audre Lorde Scholarship – Scholarship to recognize members of the GLBT community of African American descent who are “out.” The deadline for this scholarship is May, 15, 2005. o Thursday, March 24, 2005 – 4:30 PM in Wolfe Main Lobby – Housing Options for Sophomore Year Experience Program – This program is intended for rising sophomores to check out their options for next year, and possibly meet your future roommate!!! There will be a tour, floor plans, and in particulars about housing.

o Thursday, March 24, 2005 – 7 PM in Forcina 226 – SGA Vice President of Equity and Diversity Info Session – There is an official referendum to be voted on by the general student body Tuesday, March 29 & Wednesday, March 30 in the Student Center Atrium about whether to create a this position in our school. The program on March 24, 2005 is an info session, so if stay informed and come on out!!!

o Thursday, March 24, 2005 – 8:30 PM in Forcina 132 – Being Latino in the GLBT Community – Professor Figueroa will be moderating a discussion on this issue of race within the GLBTQ community. It would be great for as many of us to go as possible, as this is an issue that affects our organization, even if you don’t feel a personal attachment to the issue. As far as education goes, this program will be sure to provide a great perspective for us. This event is sponsored by LTA, GUTS, and WILL.

o Tuesday, March 29, 2005 – 9 PM in Don Evans Black Box Theater (that’s right inside Kendall’s rear entrance for anyone who doesn’t know). – A speaker from INK’s Visiting Writer’s Series is coming to the college. Be sure to check it out!

GenderPAC Calls on Bush Administration to Address Harmful Stereotypes in Boys' Anti-Gang Initiative WASHINGTON (February 14, 2005) The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition (GenderPAC), the national organization working to end violence and discrimination based on gender stereotypes, delivered a letter today to First Lady Laura Bush calling on the Administration to address the unwritten codes of masculinity that are harmful to boys and young men, and all of us. "Outmoded and stereotypical views about what it means to be 'a real man' have harsh consequences and breed violence and aggression," GenderPAC's letter said. GenderPAC asked Mrs. Bush to place the following principles at the center of the Administration's new anti-gang and school violence initiative: -Ensuring that every boy develops all his talents by supporting programs that encourage boys to explore all their interests even when it's something not typically expected of males, like art, nursing, or teaching; -Ensuring that boys can build strong relationships and families as adults through parenting that teaches early on to be sensitive and strong, nurturing and assertive; and, -Ensuring that boys excel academically by creating safer schools and classrooms where they are honored for their academic, as well as their athletic and social successes. Max Saito from UMass Amherst will discuss how in contemporary Japan, many
"ordinary" (heterosexual) Japanese people believe there is no homosexuality
in their country. This lunch discussion will examine the roles that ordinary
people play in constituting their understanding about homosexuality, and
without any negative intentions, how they make gays and lesbians invisible

§ Movie/discussion of Boys Don’t Cry, the epic/poignant story of the struggle, journey, and identity of Brandon Teena, an individual who identified as transgendered. Bring yourself and friends, because in addition to it being a free program, there will be a free nacho bar!!!

o Wednesday, February 23, 2005 – 8PM @ Travers-Wolfe Main Lounge – Transgenderism Awareness Program (Part II)

§ “What’s underneath his skirt?” Go beyond the skin and into the heart of identity. There will be movie clips, discussion, a speaker about transgenderedism (hopefully), and free refreshments!

· Brainstorming

o Meeting Structures – We are looking to possibly implement the following configuration for our meetings.

§ 1 “Topic” Meeting/month

· This meeting will consist of speakers, programs, video clips, etc. followed by discussion to promote learning and thinking within our organization.

· One idea that was brought up in the meeting is to publicize and open these meetings to the general public (while keeping it a safe place) to promote our club and possibly increase membership. How does everyone feel about this?

· The topic will be announced before the meeting.

· This meeting will also have a brief time allotted for a mail call and announcements.

§ 1 “Business” Meeting/month

· The format of this meeting will be similar to that of the meetings we held last semester. This is the meeting to bring up any official business.

§ 2 “Fun/Social” Meetings/month

· These meetings will be simply that. FUN FUN FUN!

· We got a great list of ideas of fun things to do within our meetings, but if anyone has any other ideas, please let us know!

· This meeting will also have a brief time allotted for a mail call and announcements.

o Name Change

§ Since GUTS previously voted to change the name of our organization, we need IDEAS!!! As of now, we only have had three suggestions. If you have ANY ideas whatsoever, please e-mail them to the GUTS account before 9PM on Tuesday, February 22, 2005. We will be voting on the new name in our next meeting!!!

o Other ideas

§ Publicity – We want to start publicizing our organization all year round, and with the name change coming into effect, this would be a great time to do it!

Salut, les personnes des GUTS!

We are nearing the end of AIDS Awareness Week, and we thank all of you who
have attended our events and helped make it what it is!

The two remaining events are:

1. TONIGHT, at 8:00 in the Decker Main Lounge: AIDS Coffeehouse

Bring anything -- poetry, prose, music, statistics, etc. -- that you
would like to share.

2. TOMORROW, at 8:00 in the TW Main Lounge: AIDS Movie Night

We will be watching a student-made public service announcement and
discussing it. There maybe something else as well. Come to find out
what it is!

And now, the rest of the notes:

A. NO MEETING 11/26: There will be no meeting next week due to
Thanksgiving break.

B. END OF SEMESTER: The semester is ending. We are currently planning
an end of semester party, to take place during the reading days. It will
probably involved a White Elephant gift exchange, so start planning.
Gifts must be $3.00 or less. Further details to come!

C. GAY MARRIAGE: Gay marriage is now recognized in Massachusetts because
of a Supreme Court ruling. However, the Massachusetts governor is hoping
that the ruling will lead to civil unions, rather than marriage. For the

D. CARSON: Again, Carson is coming, and we think it would be a good idea
for all of us to go together! We are planning on meeting at the 1855 Room
at 5:30 this Saturday and then heading over together. Please come!

E. SCRAPBOOK: If you have any pictures or papers that could be used for
the GUTS scrapbook, please contact our historian, Bekky Mellor, at
mellor2@tcnj.edu.

F. A.C.T. ONE ACTS: All College Theater is presenting their "Evening of
Shorts 2004" this weekend at 8:00 Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the
Black Box Theater (other side of Kendall Hall). Tickets are $4.00 for students.

G. COLLEGIUM MUSICUM: Collegium Musicum is having their annual concert
this Sunday, November 23, 2003 at 8:00 pm in the Music Building Concert
Hall. This year is special, since they will be accompanied by a full
orchestra. Tickets are required. They are $5.00 with a TCNJ Student ID
and are available at the box office, although you can probably purchase
them the evening of the concert. However, if you would like to order them
in advance, call the box office at (609)-771-2775 M-F from 11:00am-6:00pm.
Oh, and OUR PRESIDENT KEIKO SUWA WILL BE SINGING!, so let's all go and
support her, shall we? It will be a spectacular event, anyway.

H. OCSO BAND NIGHT: The Off Campus Student Organization is having a FREE
band night in the Rat tonight from 8:00pm-11:00pm. Attend after the
coffeehouse, it will probably run even later than 11:00pm!

I. ANIMAL RIGHTS: The Animal Rights organization on campus is having a
Veggie Thanksgiving this Monday, November 24, 2003 at 8:00pm in the Allen
drawing room.

J. NCNW MOVIE NIGHT: The National Council for Negro Women is having a
movie night this Monday in the George Jackson Center. They will be
showing either The Women of Brewster Place or If These Walls Could Talk
II.

K. HIV TESTING: There will be free and confidential HIV testing on
Monday, November 24, 2003 at Health Services in Eickhoff Hall from
10:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-3:00pm. This is FREE and CONFIDENTIAL, and the
guy is a real riot; he's so funny! So go!

L. EXPLOSION LATINA: This Saturday, November 22, 2003, Union Latina is
having Explosion Latina. It is a free night of dancing and talent acts,
and runs from 6:30pm-10:00pm in the Student Center Atrium. Food is $1.00.

M. PGMC CONCERT: The Philadelphia Gay Men's Chorus (of which I, Jeremy,
am a part) is having their holiday concert on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at
8:00pm at St. Luke and the Epiphany Church in Center City Philadelphia.
Tickets are $15.00 or $12.00 with a student ID at the door. Email me, Jeremy,

N. ALLY STORIES: Advocates for Youth is looking for stories that
describe how to be a great ally to GLBTQ youth. Topic ideas include:

*belonging to a gay-straight alliance as a straight ally
*things you do every day to support GLBTQ rights
*your experience participating in an event to support GLBTQ rights
*other things you might do to make the world a better place for GLBTQ
youth

Submit stories, which are to be between 250-1000 words and written in the
first person, to jessie@advocatesforyouth.org . The stories will be published
and featured on several websites.

O. SIREN: The Siren Literary Magazine, a TCNJ publication, is taking
submissions for the Spring 2004 Magazine. Submit any poetry, prose,
plays, illustrations, photography, paintings, and logos (including your
name, email, address, and graduation date) to thesiren@tcnj.edu or their mail
box in Campus Life by January 26, 2004.

P. SIGNAL SERIES: Teresa Rivas, who has been responsible for the
majority of the stories on gay life at TCNJ (have you seen Noel and Maya's
articles this week??) is preparing for the final installment of the
series. She wants some quotes on how you wish to be perceived on campus,
if you believe that you are perceived in this way, and what your hopes are

Q. FAMILY EQUALITY ACT: The Council needs your help to win passage of
the A-3743 in the legislature known as the Family Equality Act. The bill
would provide domestic partners with the same rights as married couples
with respect to State health and pension benefits, including the right to
make medical decisions for an incapacitated partner and exemption from the

R. CUB MOVIE NIGHTS: The movie committee responsible for the TW
Saturday night movies will be meeting in the CUB office on Monday at 6:00pm to

suggestion that they show Camp. Ooh, Camp...

S. TCNJ FORMAL: Um... if you want to go to the Formal, stop reading
this and go buy them in Student Center 205-206 RIGHT NOW. It closes by
9:00pm. It will be held on Friday, February 6, 2004 from 7:30pm-12:30am.
Tickets are $30 each.

T. DEPRESSION FORUM: The Irish American Club is having an event at
8:00pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2003 in Student Center room 202E about
depression and mood disorders. Students who have depression and mood
disorders will be sharing their experiences. Educational materials will
be distributed.

U. FRATERNITY PROGRAM: The brothers of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity
Inc will meet to discuss topics that may affect male students of The
College if they don't take precaution in their actions, specifically
sexual assault. This discussion will take place on December 1, 2003 in Social
Sciences Building 103 at 8:30pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

MAN! I was only FIVE POINTS away from the complete alphabet. Someday it
will happen. Someday... Perhaps I should have made this a point... Oh
well.

Hi everyone!

As you all know, next week is our big event for the year: AIDS Awareness
Week. We need your support (i.e. attendance) to make all of our events a

Event: Banner Making

Desc.: Student groups have the chance to show off their support
for AIDS awareness by making a banner. Supplies are
provided.

Monday, November 17th

Event: Speaker -- Maryann Vitello
Time: 8:00pm
Place: Travers Main Lounge
Desc.: Maryann Vitello will provide an overview of the AIDS
pandemic. She will take us from where we were to where we
are now and on to where we are headed. Questions may be
submitted in advance at the GUTS office.

Event: AIDS Quilt Display

Desc.: Panels of the AIDS Quilt will be on display.

A. CARSON: Yes, Carson from "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" is coming
to TCNJ on November 22nd. Tickets are currently on sale at the Student
Center box office.

B. BSU CONVERSATION PARTY: The Black Student Union is having a
conversation party to discuss the top 10 African-American issues tonight,
11/13, at 8:00pm in the George Jackson Center in the Student Center.

C. JACKSON KATZ: The White Ribbon Campaign is sponsoring speaker Jackson
Katz on Tuesday, November 18th at 3:30 in Travers and Wolfe.

D. ACT'S EVENING OF SHORTS: ACT's "An Evening of Shorts" 2004 will be
November 18-22 at 8:00pm in the Kendall Hall Black Box (opposite side of
Kendall from the main theater). Tickets are $4 student/faculty, $6
general admission. With titles like "For Whom the Southern
Belle Tolls" and "Will the Real Jesus Christ Please Stand Up?", it should
be a good time. Since Tuesday night is the only night we do not have an
event for AIDS Awareness Week, several of us are planning on going then.

E. INDIAN DANCE PARTY: There is an Indian Dance Party this Friday from
8:30-11:00 in TW. Admission is $3.

F. T/W CUB MOVIE: This weekend, CUB is showing "Bend It Like Beckham".
It was highly recommended by several GUTS members.

G. UNION LATINA SPEAKER: Tonight at 8:00 pm in Forcina Hall 132, the
former Vice President of the Dominican Republic, Jaime David Fernandez,
and the International Relations Deputy, Minou Mirabel, will be speaking.
They will be discussing Latin American policies and the struggles that
the Dominican Republic faced to overthrow the ex-dictator, Trujillo. This
event is free.

H. AAA MOVIE: The Asian-American Association will be showing "The Scent
of Green Papaya" tonight at 7:00pm.

Hi all you GUTS-y folk!

At today's meeting, we mainly discussed the big even coming up in a week
and a half: AIDS Awareness Week.

AIDS Awareness Week is our biggest event of the year, a week-long series
of speakers and activities to promote awareness of the AIDS epidemic. The
schedule for this year is as follows:

SUNDAY, NOV. 16: BANNER MAKING - 8:00pm, Decker main lounge

MONDAY, NOV. 17: FIRST SPEAKER - 8:00pm, Travers main lounge

TUESDAY, NOV. 18: AIDS QUILT - 10:00am-4:00pm, Student Center 210

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 19: SECOND SPEAKER - 8:00pn, Wolfe main lounge

THURSDAY, NOV. 20: COFFEEHOUSE - 8:00pm, Decker main lounge

FRIDAY, NOV. 21: VIDEO CLIP AND DISCUSSION - 8:00pm, TW main lounge

Special notes on these events: The first speaker will be an African AIDS
consultant. Don't forget to submit your questions to Ryan ahead of time.
We need most of the Exec Team to arrive early on Tuesday, at 9:00am, to
set up the quilt. For the coffeehouse, please bring any statistics, poetry,
or anything else you would like to share regarding AIDS. Finally, and I
cannot stress this enough:

*WE NEED ALL OF YOUR HELP IN ORGANIZING THE MASSIVE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN
FOR THESE EVENTS!* Just take a few posters to post and it will all go
fast. We absolutely need all of you to do some. As soon as you finish

Aside from AIDS Awareness Week (which we will honorarily assign to "A"),

B. RESEARCH STUDIES / ARTICLES: GUTS has been asked to help out several
budding sociologists and journalists with their attempts to help the world
understand us and to make a difference. The studies/aricles are as
follows:

1. "Homosexuality in Heterosexual Society" Study
Some student in Sociology 101 are running this study and
they need participants for public displays of affection
between two people of the same gender. They would also
like to know if any of you want to help them with their
research, tests, and surveying. Contact them at:

The Signal is running a five-part series on what it is
like to be gay at TCNJ. They are looking for a variety of

C. MISS TCNJ: Our Social Director, Brandon Pena, is running in the Miss
TCNJ pageant tonight! He is trying to make a statement that some people
dress in drag on a daily basis and that it should be taken seriously. The
event will take place tonight (Nov. 6) at 8:00 pm in Student Center room
202. Tickets are $5 and the money benefits terminally ill children.

D. LARAMIE PROJECT: Mercer County College is putting on a production of
The Laramie Project. They have invited us to go as a group and to meet a
local high school GSA over dinner this Saturday, November 8. Tickets are
$8, but if we get a group of 15 or more they are bumped down to $7. Let
us know if you want to go ASAP so that we can contact them reserving
tickets and planning dinner. Sorry for the last minute suggestion, but
this could be a really cool and cheap trip for us.

E. ACT ONE-ACTS: The ACT One-Acts are coming up, but they are during
AIDS Awareness Week. HOWEVER, we are all free Tuesday night,
November 18, since the event for that day ends at 4:00pm. ACT needs people to
go that night anyway, so we can all go as a group! Tickets are $4 for
TCNJ students and the show starts at 8:00.

F. ANTI HATE CRIMES FORUM: PSA's Anti Hate Crimes Forum is tonight at
7:00 in the Cromwell main lounge.

G. WOMEN'S ART SHOW: There is a Women's Art Show tonight in Allen from
6:30-8:00.

H. BSU CULTURAL DAY: The Black Student Union will be having its Cultural
Day on November 11 in the Student Center. It will be a
day-long celebration of African-American culture, and includes a $2 buffet.

I. SEXUAL HEALTH WORKSHOP: NCNW, VOX, and MAPS are hosting a Women's
Sexual Health Workship on November 12. It will be an informal discussion
on the most current medical information. 7:00 pm, Eickhoff 113.

J. CARSON: Queer Eye's Carson is coming November 22.

K. COLLEGIUM MUSICUM CONCERT: Collegium Musicum is a renaissance /
madrigal group on campus. Their concert is November 23 at 8:00pm. This
year, it will include a full orchestra.

L. MATRIX: REVOLUTIONS: ACM is planning a trip to see The Matrix:
Revolutions in an IMAX theater on November 15. Let them or us know if you
are interested and they/we will get you the information.

M. RESLIFE INTEREST SESSIONS: To any who are interested in the positions
of CA, CC, or SMR, ResLife is having interest sessions on the following
dates:

Nov. 10 @ 8:30pm, Decker
Nov. 12 @ 2:00pm, Centennial
Nov. 16 @ 8:00pm, TW (but this is when we are banner making)
Nov. 19 @ 2:00pm, Allen

That's about it for this week! There were two other movie events that Maren
talked about that I did not include because I did not have enough information
written down and could not find any on the TCNJ site, BUT I will list
what I have here. AAA is showing the movie "Wedding Banquet" on Saturday
and there will be a showing of "Shouldn't We Dance?" tomorrow at 6:00 pm
in the Social Sciences Building. (I didn't include this because I
couldn't find a review of the film).

GUTS@TCNJ Meeting Minutes -- 10/22/03

Welcome back, everyone! I hope that your Fall Break was relaxing!

Today's meeting was brief and laid back. We sort of just eased ourselves
back into the old routine. Consequently, we didn't go over much.
HOWEVER, we still have some meeting minutes for ya!

At today's meeting we discussed:

A. SIGNAL 5-PART SERIES: The Signal is interested in doing a five part
series on what it is like to be glbt here at TCNJ. They are looking for
women, men, bisexuals, homosexuals, singles, couples, etc. -- a spectrum,
if you will -- and we are letting you know about it. If you would like to
share your experience, contact Keiko at suwa2@tcnj.edu and she will let
the reporter at The Signal know you are interested.

B. MOVIE NIGHT: This Friday night, October 24, is our second movie
night! We will be showing Hedwig and the Angry Inch in the Wolfe Main
Lounge at 8:00.

C. HALLOWEEN: Um... Does anyone have any ideas for what we can all do
as a group on Halloween? We have some suggestions that we will bring up
next time, but we want to have your input too!

D. MAIL: The new copy of The Advocate is on file in the GUTS Office.

E. OFFICE HOURS: Speaking of the GUTS Office, I promise I will have the
schedule worked out by the weekend and will email those of you who signed
up. I apologize for the delay. After I arrange it, I will need your
SSN's to make a new keylist. We might be able to start the schedule by
Wednesday of next week. Again, sorry for taking so long.

F. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME: Just a reminder, this Sunday starts Daylight
Savings Time, so set your clocks back an hour before you go to bed
Saturday night and feel free to sleep in an extra hour in the morning!

G. ROCKY HORROR: A reminder email was sent out regarding the Rocky
Horror Picture Show event by P.E.A.N.U.T.S. Just in case you didn't
get it, it will be Nov. 1 into Nov. 2 and the ticket price is $10.00. For
further information about tickets, contact Maya Eilam at eilam2@tcnj.edu.

H. SAFE SEX, LATEX, AND BEYOND: The "Safe Sex, Latex, and Beyond" party
will take place Wednesday, November 5 at 8:00 in the Women's Center. If
you are a gay male and wish to speak at or share information for this
event, please email Keiko (suwa2@tcnj.edu) and she will pass it along to the
appropriate people.

I. CARSON: CUB has announced that Carson from "Queer Eye for the
Straight Guy" is coming to TCNJ on November 22! Details to come at a
later date.
